Sharkbridge PC-Program

Why choose SharkBridge as your preferred bridge playing software?

SharkBridge is not only one of the strongest playing bridge engines in the world. The program is recognized by it's users as having the most advanced functions for analyzing bridge deals. These functions imply that Shark Bridge unlike most other bridge engines will play the cards in a human way, and when playing with Shark, you will get the feeling of playing against strong human opposition.

SharkBridge comes with more than 1500 tournaments, played by experts in international events. By comparing your score with the actual results at the tournament table, you get immediate feedback of the quality of your play.

SharkBridge can assist you in the bidding, or declarer play. It is capable of giving you hints about how to play as declarer, not only by showing you the suggested card to play, but also providing you with the reason for playing that card - in English! It is not a trick, or working only for a number of pre-dealt hands. Any distribution can be analyzed, and a declarer plan formed in clear English text. This analyzing capability is one of the major reasons why Shark plays so "human" as you will get the feeling of.

Example of declarer play hint.

SharkBridge participated in the Bridge Computer World Championship 2008 in Las Vegas. It finished second in the round robin, won the individual world championship, and lost narrowly in the semi-final knock out to the later champion Wbridge5 (leading after 60 boards, of the 64 boards played). Shark Bridge repeated the success at the 2009 championship, where it again won the individual world championship, thereby demonstrating its superior ability to adapt to different partnership styles. Shark Bridge is recognised by its users, as probably the strongest and most feature rich bridge program in the world.

One of the unique features is the capability of shuffling a deal according to a given bidding sequence

Instead of specifying suit lengths and HCP for the players, you can just give Shark Bridge the bidding sequence you want to practice. Eventually combined with one or more hands being specified and not shuffled.

So a problem like the one you may have encountered last Tuesday in your local club, can now be easily analysed. Say you have AQxx, x, Axxx, KQxx. Bidding goes 1C from you. LHO comes in with 1H, partner doubles (negative) showing exactly 4 spades, pass from RHO. How many spades do you bid? 3 or 4? Well give the hand to Shark Bridge. Specify the secuence above - eventually the vulnerability, and start shuffling a string of distributions that will fit each players bid so far. Did you do the technically correct thing in practice at the club?
